Lofoten Photography Workshop

Join us on an 8-day, 7-night workshop in the heart of Norway, exploring arctic beaches, chasing northern lights, and living among towering mountains in cozy fishermen’s cabins.

Rough Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Norway

Arrival in Harstad/Narvik Airport (Airport code - EVE) and head straight to our accommodation for the day. We will drive for about 3.5 hours through the heart of Lofoten, arguably one of the most scenic drives anywhere on the world with jagged mountain peaks and massive Atlantic ocean always by our side. We will arrive and stay at the picturesque village of Ballstad in cozy fishermen’s cabins, which will be our base for the first four nights at Lofoten. We will keep an eye on the aurora forecast and if conditions are on our favor, we will start chasing the northern lights from our first night.

Accommodation: Ballstad

Day 2-4 - arctic Beaches and Fjords

Every morning, we will wake up early for chasing the beautiful golden sunrise across the whole archipelago. Our itinerary will remain flexible depending on the weather, and in these three days, we will visit all the Arctic beaches - including Vik, Haukland, Uttakleiv, Unstad, Vareid, Vikten, and Skagsanden beach. We will also visit the picturesque town of Henningsvær (with the most popular football field), as well as Nusfjord. There are countless places to shoot amazing pictures in Lofoten and the whole area feels straight out of a fairytale.

We will continue to monitor the aurora activity every night and depending on weather conditions, will always drive towards the aurora hotspots every night.

Accommodation: Ballstad

Day 5-7 - Reine, Hamnøy, Sakrisøy

We will move our base camp to the beautiful village of Hamnøy on Day 5. For the next three days, we will cover places like Flakstad, Ramberg, Fredvang, Reine, Sakrisøy, Hamnøy, Å. We will shoot the vivid fishermen’s cabins with the backdrop against some of the finest mountain range of Lofoten. We will shoot sunrise and sunset every day fairly close to our accommodation, and as usual, depending on weather conditions, we will chase the greatest show on earth - the aurora borealis.

We will spend some time post processing our images from the workshop and will also explore Lofoten’s best restaurant, just a walk away from our accommodation.

Accommodation: Hamnøy

Day 8 - Departure from Norway

After the final sunrise in this fairytale land, we will gather for one last breakfast together, sharing memories and stories of the incredible journey we’ve had. We will cherish the laughter, the breathtaking landscapes, and the unforgettable bonds formed over the past week.

After breakfast, we will pack up and prepare to leave for Harstad/Narvik Airport, from where we’ll catch our return flights. As we drive through the scenic roads of Lofoten one last time, take a moment to soak in the sights—the rugged peaks, serene fjords, and colorful fishing villages that have been our home and inspiration.

I cannot thank Dipanjan enough for conducting such an insightful and satisfying tour. The tour was almost designed to perfection. I was initially skeptical of trying out drone photography but he instilled confidence. His on- field guidance on low light photography, use of different filters were extremely useful. I would highly recommend him for photo workshops.”
