Daywise Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Iceland
Arrive in Iceland and settle into your accommodation in Keflavik close to the airport. You will be picked up from the airport depending on your time of arrival. You should plan to arrive in Iceland in the afternoon. We will drive around Reykjanes peninsula around sunset and continue to monitor the aurora forecast. We will shoot closer to our stay if there is any activity of northern lights.

Day 2 - Snæfellsnes
After an early breakfast, we will leave for a little paradise in the western part of Iceland called Snæfellsnes peninsula. This area of Iceland is full of diverse landscapes and we will spend our entire day photographing at multiple spots like Búðir black church, Arnarstapi village, Stone Arch bridge, the famous red church etc. We will stay close to Mount Kirkjufell at night and keep monitoring the aurora forecast.

Day 3 - Snæfellsnes
We will begin this day shooting sunrise over Mount Kirkjufell. During the day, we will explore more of Snæfellsnes Peninsula depending on the weather and light and conditions. This will give us a second chance to shoot some of the iconic locations if the conditions don’t shape up on our first attempt. We will be staying at the same accommodation as day 2 and head to Mount Kirkjufell for the northern lights if there is any.

Day 4 - Golden Circle
After an early breakfast, we will drive directly to Þingvellir National Park. Throughout the day, we will cover the following spots - Oxarafoss waterfall, Bruarfoss waterfall, Geysir and Strokkur, Gulfoss waterfall, Kerid crater etc. We will have our lunch at Geysir restaurant and after dinner, we will retire to our accommodation at Vik. We will continue to monitor the aurora forecast as usual and shoot closeby depending on conditions.

Day 5 - South Coast
We will start to get the true flavour of Iceland from this day as we had to as we start visiting many of Iceland's iconic waterfalls today. We will be shooting some of the iconic waterfalls such as Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, and two not so popular but incredibly beautiful waterfalls as well. We will drone some of the incredible braided rivers of Iceland today. We will be watching the sunset from the cliffs of Dyrhólaey overlooking the endless black sand beach.

Day 6 - glacier Lagoon
We will start our day early shooting the most popular black sand beach of Iceland called Reynisfjara. After breakfast, we will shoot the church of Vik from a unique vantage point and head to Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. For the sunset, we will be going towards Svinafellsjokull area, which will be our first sighting of the glacier. We will also be droning at multiple locations throughout the day. Our stay will be in this area close to the glaciers.

Day 7 - Ice cave Day
We will start early and head to Diamond beach to photograph the sunrise against little crystals of ice, followed by our highlight of the trip - the private ice cave discovery tour. We will transfer to a super jeep and enter Europe's second biggest glacier in search of huge ice caves. We will spend a total of six hours on the glacier inside some of Iceland’s craziest ice caves. Crampons and helmets will be provided. We will spend the sunset at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.

Day 8 - Heading back
We will shoot the sunrise at Vestrahorn mountain and post breakfast, we will be heading back from east towards Reykjavik. On our way, we will stop at a unique vantage point to shoot the Vatnajökull glacier. We will also be covering any spots that we missed during our south coast adventures and probably shoot the sunset from the black sand beaches of Vik. We will retire to our accommodation at Hella/Hvolsvollur for the night.

Day 9 - Reykjavik
We will drone some rivers in the south coast in the morning and head back to Reykjavik today. We will be staying in downtown and explore the church of Hallgrimskirkja, overlooking the entire city of Reykjavik. We will stroll around Reykjavik’s most popular shopping street, taste some local Icelandic delicacies, and overall spend the day relaxing. Participants also have the option to go to the nearby Sky Lagoon for a memorable geothermal spa experience (not included). We will have our group dinner together in the downtown.

Day 10 - Departure
On the final day of the tour, we will drop everyone to the Keflavik airport for your departure. You are free to choose a morning flight for departure, or you could decide to stay back for a few days in the city of Reykjavik and explore more of Iceland. We will definitely be providing you recommendations about where to stay and what to do, if you choose to stay longer.

About the Instructor
Dipanjan Pal
Dipanjan is an aerial and landscape photographer from Kolkata, India. He has extensive experience of photographing and traveling in Iceland and spent many weeks traveling to all the remote corners of the country.
Previously, Dipanjan has been to Iceland four times and led two photography workshops in 2023 and 2024 successfully. His images from Iceland have won more than 20 international awards, including the prestigious IPA and ILPOTY. His works have been published in international media such as National Geographic, BBC News, DailyMail, Conde Nast Traveller, PetaPixel, BoredPanda etc.
Dipanjan is also a big time foodie and feels it’s important to indulge in local delicacies to truly taste the culture of a new country.

VISA + Entry Requirements
You need a Schengen Visa to travel to Iceland. The visa fees from India are ₹7500 (€80) and another additional ₹2000-3000 in the VFS Global office. VFS processes all Schengen visa applications from India.
You need to purchase travel medical insurance for your duration of stay before applying for the visa. Costs around ₹900-₹1300.
If you already have a Schengen Visa, you don’t need to worry.
No proof of COVID vaccination required to enter Iceland
Note - End-to-end Schengen visa assistance will be provided by us once you register for the workshop. We cannot guarantee your visa, but we have successfully done 20+ Schengen visa without any rejection - so hopefully we’ll get you covered as well. This includes cover letter templates, document checklist, review of your cover letter, flight bookings, visa appointment date booking, explaining the VFS procedure, and everything related to the visa process.
